We all know the impact this movie has had as a marketing tool (rappers, posters, sneakers, box set DVD's), based on a walk-thru of any rapper, entertainer, or ball-player on MTV cribs you better have some Scarface memorabilia right?
of course rarely talk about is that in my opinion and seeing this movie before a lot of cats were calling themselves Montana is that it was the blueprint for a lot of small-time hoods to think big T.W.I.M.(The World IS Mine)mentality but here are a few aspects that you may have missed in the movie.
1. Tony Destroy his Family mother & sister
2. Tony killed his life long best friend over some Bull Shyt
3. Tony was murdered closing minutes of the movie
4. please refer back to #3
So I respect the right to idolize like anybody else but how come you cats don't want to be Mr.Soso he didn't die in the movie but wait Mr.Soso(based loosely on Pablo Escobar who was killed real life by his own cartel)so maybe better to be an accountant or something huh?
Carmelo Anthony(Stop Snitching Campaign)
Widely available in stores and the Internet for between $10 and $28, the T-shirts have outraged community leaders in Boston, where a clothing store owner agreed last month to stop selling them amid a surge in violent crime, and Baltimore, where the shirts are believed to have originated based on a homemade DVD by the same name.
The DVD included an appearance by Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony, who said he was unaware of its purpose. The video warns people they could "get a hole in their head" for cooperating with police.
1.Hey Melo since street cred is important don't half step dawg move your ass out of the exclusive Denver suburbs and in the hood, that way when you see violence on a regular you can keep your mouth shut...and gain drug-dealers respect, no wait even better when those same ignorant ass clowns you worship merc(street for murder, I got to keep it real right)you will become a martyr because dead men can't talk. 2.This hypocrisy is that all tough guys/hoods snitch to try and cut a better deal, or save their own ass ex: Sammy the Bull, Alpo etc. they all fucking talk so the premise of this shirt itself is ludicrous.
3.Finally do you morons see Bank Robbers wearing fucking "Reach for the Sky" or "Stick Em Up" shirts? got damn you wonder why there are no drug dealers who make it to collect a pension you are the dumbest motherfuckers on the planet!

Damn if I hear another interview or track about how you got coke in the streets and you are dealers first before rappers blah, blah, blah, blah, for the record having grown up in the drug game.
1. Killers, Kingpins, etc. don't fucking have time to rap rhymes, they are too busy trying to maintain power and product oh and keep from getting killed, just my observation.
2. You cats are the best defendants at your own trail (Hey Irv Gotti?) the game is sold not told remember?
3.After 2 albums please provide these 15 and 16 years old something more than drug game, especially when you cats are now in gated communities and peddling sneakers, AOL service etc. like Chuck D says "What A Brother Know?
That said there are still those rappers who I give a listen too and do the craft of hip-hop well, check the chrous from my man MF DOOM about the topic of so called drug lord rappers.

Anyway, I work with a bunch of these fake gangstas and it quite annoying listening to this crap in it's birthing stage. My thing is this too: even if you did live that life, you don't have to broadcast that sh^t like it's a badge of honor. Be creative and spit something else....so cliche.
